My name is Earl Porter and I have over 35 years carpentry experience. I've worked in East Central Florida for 25+ years. My service area includes Greater OrlandoDaytona and North Brevard County (including Melbourne). I am willing to travel further for larger jobs. And yes, I work weekends.
I stand behind all my work. A call back is a very rare thing for me, but it has happened. Knock wood, I've never had a major catastrophe. I have always gone back and made the corrections necessary ASAP. Of course, I concentrate on doing it right the first time. Call backs are too costly and embarassing!
On most jobs, no money changes hands until the work is completed. I have been telling customers for many years that I will start their job and if, after having installed some, they are not happy, I will politely and quietly leave at no cost to them. No one has ever asked me to leave.
On site estimates are free. I can usually come out in a day or two to measure your job. But I also have a lot of customers who meet me for the first time the morning I start the job. If you are comfortable providing rough measurements, I am happy to give you a phone quote, have the materials delivered and schedule an install date. I will give you a firm price before starting the work. If there is a slight discrepancy between what I thought the job was and the actual conditions, I usually let it go, considering that I have saved the time and money required for a sales call.
For the last 7 or 8 years, over 90% of my business has been installing crown molding. I have installed over 50 miles of crown molding and easily over 100 miles of all trim types. I work alone and am fast, reliable, professional and careful. Yes, I install 16 foot pieces of crown molding by myself. It's easy. This is the number one question people ask me. When they see it done, they wonder why they asked. I am also regularly told that some competitors claim it can't be done alone or that I must use all short pieces. Not true on either count. The result is that my overhead is low and I usually beat my competitiors' pricing by a good margin.
